Kalpana's tryst with design and style began with graduating from NIFD, Ahmedabad in 2001 which jumpstarted her career, and saw the beginning of the label "KALPRITZ" in 2007.

With color, craft and texture as her forte, Ethnic Wear in Western Style is naturally her area of specialization. Kasab, Jardozi, Pita work, Marodi and Resham Work are few works in which they retail in. Her look is global with ethnic Indian craft as her mainstay. kalpana’s international label, "Kalpritz" is a regular supplier  to UK’s and USA’s clients . 

She retails through her flagship store in Ahmedabad.
